The Borrego Springs Civic Foundation was officially established in 1975.

The Borrego Springs Civic Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity organization.

Once a year, a fundraiser letter is sent out to the community, which is its only fundraiser.

The Foundation publishes a monthly Community Calendar from October – May, which is mailed to everyone in the community.  It also maintains a Community Bulletin Board.

On the first weekend in March, the Foundation co-sponsors with the Medical Health Center a Health Fair and Blood Drive.

The 2nd Sunday in November, the Foundation sponsors the annual Historic Preservation Day at the "Old Borrego" Town site, which is still privately owned. People will learn about the history of Borrego Springs, and often, old timers will tell their stories.

The foundation supports lots of special programs at the schools – the High School Jazz Band and provides Rolling Readers to all students in Elementary and Middle Schools.

The Foundation has donated money to the Performing Arts Center Junior Theater Summer Program and other local organizations such as the Youth and Senior Center, the Little League Baseball and helped with funding the Golden Share Program for twelve needy families.
